Using virtualization technologies, your Virtual Dedicated Server looks just like a dedicated server, it has a full operating system to which you’ll have root/administrator access; however the hardware on which it runs is virtualized which offers numerous benefits to you as the customer.

Your Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) is hosted across multiple redundant servers in our state of the art data centre. The storage is centralized within a highly available Storage Area Network (SAN) device. This not only makes it a lot quicker, but also means that you’re no longer reliant on the physical machine which your Virtual Dedicated Server resides.

Unlike other VDS/VPS (Virtual Private Servers) providers, your server is part of a large cluster allowing us to provide High Availability (HA) and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS). If the cluster detects a failure of any hardware or sees a resource issue, it will automatically move your Virtual Dedicated Server onto spare hardware. In the unlikely event this did occur you won’t even notice the move, and our engineers would then replace the failed hardware.

This allows us to utilize server resource pools and intelligently allocate resources to ensure that your VDS has 100% access to resources 100% of the time.

Generally dedicated servers are vastly under-used. In some cases, a dedicated server may only be using 25% of its available resources. This results in a big waste of energy and money.
